2025 through the lens of in-manas: eventful and intense!

Do you feel the same way? It feels like 2025 has gone by faster than it started! But maybe it just seems like that because it was such an eventful and intense year. Let's look back and look ahead together: after the highlights of 2025, we'll take a look at what we can look forward to in 2026!

Header: AI in data management

A lot has happened in recent months: we have developed new tools, refined existing systems, implemented complex customer projects and laid the strategic foundations for the coming years. In short, 2025 was a year of development for us – technologically, organisationally and visionarily.

One key foundation that we are particularly proud of and have worked intensively on is our AI stack. It has shaped our way of thinking as well as many strategic decisions and customer projects. We are convinced that AI is becoming one of the most important success factors for companies. It influences how quickly organisations act, how efficiently processes are designed, and how innovative business models emerge. However, it is not the use of AI alone that is decisive, but how confidently and strategically it is anchored in the company.

The in-manas AI stack: technology meets strategy

For us, three levels are inextricably linked: a strong understanding of strategy and business, deep AI and technology expertise, and our own sovereign infrastructure. This combination ensures that AI is not introduced as an isolated tool, but is meaningfully integrated into processes, decisions and business models.

At the heart of this is our modular, flexible and secure infrastructure. This is not just a slogan: it is the basis for highly personalised AI agents, makes us independent of big tech and providers such as OpenAI & Co., and ensures that data stays where it belongs: in the hands of our customers.

Data sovereignty, security and neutrality are not ‘nice-to-haves’ for us, but essential components – because only with them can added value be created.

Without a solid technical foundation, AI remains piecemeal: it is difficult to scale, complicated to integrate and rarely effective in the long term. That is precisely why we focus on the close connection between technology and strategy.

With us, AI is not an endless field of experimentation. We see it as a tool that actually lightens the load, speeds up everyday business processes and creates strategic added value.

– Franz Bailom, CEO in-manas

Alongside the AI stack, we have consistently developed our own AI platform based on the same philosophy.

Looking at the milestones for 2025 shows how INNO-VERSE has evolved:

January: Kick-off with Global AI Chat & RAG

Right at the start of the year, we kicked off with a real milestone: the launch of Global AI Chat and our new RAG system. For the first time, this allowed large quantities of our own documents to be uploaded directly to the hub and searched intelligently via chat. Instead of manually clicking through countless files, all it took was a simple question – and the answers were available within seconds.

We were genuinely surprised at how good, relevant and reliable the responses were – and were able to move straight on to the next stage of development.

– Nicolas Müller, Head of Product Development in-manas

This release laid the foundation for significantly more efficient use of information, as well as for further developments that were to follow in the course of the year. Global AI Chat became the basis for a new tool that would soon fundamentally change the way people work in INNO-VERSE: the AI Notebook.

March: Fine-tuning becomes a game changer

At first glance, our extensive update in March may have seemed ‘minor’ – but it has turned out to be a real game changer: AI Research has received practical innovations such as the ability to pin frequently used templates, and the number of completed steps is now displayed in the generation progress for each widget. This makes workflows significantly faster and more structured, and our customers report significant time savings.

We have also refined the AI Trend Radar: a new, clearly structured form has made it much easier to create trend radars. With great attention to detail, we have implemented numerous improvements – from multi-line text entries and a tidy Innoboard to the option of searching the web for additional information.

All these adjustments had a clear goal: to make our users' everyday lives easier, more efficient and more intuitive.

May: The AI Notebook and the introduction to agent-based workflows

May was marked by a major innovation: the AI Notebook opened up a whole new workspace in INNO-VERSE. Similar to Global Chat, documents could be uploaded and queried – but this time in a dedicated, context-sensitive environment.

What does that mean? The Notebook was more than just a ‘chat with documents’: it marked the beginning of the era of agent-based workflows. We developed specialised AI agents tailored to individual use cases:

  • The Research Agent specialises in searching, evaluating and summarising scientific papers and publications.
  • The Regulatory Monitoring Agent helps our customers monitor changes in legislation and guidelines. They receive notifications about all important developments.

You can find out which other specialised agents we developed for our customers in the months that followed in the tool library on our website.

By the way: Alongside the AI Notebook, we introduced a new folder structure that allows tools, notebooks and resources to be clearly structured and individually organised. This provides a better overview, reduces friction losses and makes work significantly more efficient.

July: Optimisation, customer focus and greater flexibility

Summer was all about our customer projects – and thus also about targeted improvements. The AI Notebook was further expanded: new agents were directly integrated, and the upload of sources became significantly more flexible. In addition to internal documents, external links could be integrated, making the Notebook ideal for specialised web research.

The folder structure was also further refined. Content could now be conveniently moved between workspaces and reorganised – a feature that quickly became indispensable, especially in larger projects.

August: Small change – big impact: transparency through direct source references

Sometimes it's the little things that inspire: like the direct source references in the AI Notebook. Each answer is provided with a clear reference to the underlying source – including a direct link to the relevant passage in the text.

An immediately visible and accessible source reference creates transparency, trust and maximum traceability. I'm a real fan of this feature!

– customer voice

Source management has also been improved: folder structures for sources, collections as a database and a more visually structured agent output have made the notebook even clearer. Another new feature is automatic email notification when agents find relevant content – a further step towards proactive intelligence.

October: new positioning, new website, clear vision

In autumn, we deliberately took time to sharpen our profile. Feedback from our customers was clear: in addition to our technological expertise, our strategic competence and market understanding are particularly valued. It was precisely these two worlds that we wanted to link more closely together.

Our new positioning therefore stands for a combination of AI expertise and strategic foresight. Our goal is not only to support companies in implementing AI, but also to integrate it meaningfully into their strategy, processes and decision-making. In this way, we want to meet companies where they are right now:

  • Agile corporate and AI strategies
  • Secure and innovative AI systems and AI solutions
  • In-depth expert consulting
  • Forward-looking systems for strategic, market and innovation intelligence

At the same time, our new website, in-manas.com, went live – with a fresh design, clear structure and numerous resources such as white papers, use cases and a tool library.

Feel free to drop by – and if you want to not only use AI, but also create real added value from it, we look forward to talking to you!

November: the new sidebar and looking ahead

Towards the end of the year, the user interface also underwent an update: the new sidebar. To achieve this, we fundamentally redesigned the interface and permanently moved the navigation to the left-hand side. It can now be flexibly expanded and collapsed, creating space for content and workflows while also making it much easier to find your way around INNO-VERSE.

We weren't just interested in a new layout. We redesigned and restructured the sidebar content: important areas are now easier to access, connections between tools are clearer, and work processes can be controlled more intuitively.

– Nicolas Müller, Head of Product Development in-manas

The sidebar forms the foundation for future enhancements – particularly in the areas of smart agents, dynamic workflows and context-sensitive interactions. The new sidebar is therefore not just a visual update, but a central building block for the next stage of development of our platform.

We look forward to 2026!

After a year full of developments, we are looking forward to expanding INNO-VERSE and our AI stack in the new year with a focus on real-world applications.

One focus will certainly be the AI Notebook, which we want to take to the next level both functionally and visually. We are planning new features, an improved user interface with a more flexible full-screen layout, and additional AI functions designed to make everyday work easier for teams.

In our customer projects, we will delve deeper into individual solutions. We are already working on specialised agents for legal and regulatory issues, for sales and for other specialist areas where tailor-made AI can make a real difference.

We look forward to continuing on this path in 2026 and are excited to see how AI and INNO-VERSE will continue to evolve with many new ideas, solutions and smart agents.

Please let us know which AI applications would help you in your daily business – we are open to ideas and suggestions of all kinds!
